Variations on a Theme

In keeping with yesterday's post...an article about a Burger of the Month club in NY (with the entertaining acronym of BOTM pronounced like a part of the anatomy that probably doesn't benefit from participation in said club). This is a brilliant idea via the NYT dining section. Now I wonder who I can rope into founding a DC chapter.

  1. the kind of club that can easily be transformed into another selection. for instance, being a breakfast buff, I would start one for Benedict, something you can get everywhere, but varies widely in quality, craftsmanship and flair. also, I have an impromtu one in my head around Carrot Cake, the best being a place in Glenorchy New Zealand, pop. 30 where some chef really takes it seriously.

  3. also, many people hate carrot cake so there is something wonderful about proving them wrong, like they've only had bad carrot cake their entire lives
